Give every supplier the same brief
A usable supplier brief contains the bottle capacity, target quantity, destination market, design reference, neck or pump direction, cap material, decoration coverage, required delivery date and any drawing files. Add the required sample quantity and the decision maker for artwork and technical approval. This prevents each supplier from pricing a different interpretation of the same request.
Ask for the evidence that changes the decision
Request current drawings, product identifiers, component compatibility notes, available decoration routes, MOQ by component, lead-time assumptions, carton data and the proposed sample path. When a critical specification is unavailable, mark it as pending rather than filling the quotation with an estimate that may later be treated as a commitment.
Close with a controlled approval plan
Before issuing a purchase order, align the commercial quote with the bill of materials, technical drawings, artwork revision, sample outcome, quality plan and export packing plan. Confirm which change requests require a new sample or test. A structured RFQ is valuable because it creates the traceability needed to move from a visual idea to a controlled production order.
